Starting Tuesday, November 10, 2009, edna fedya, a vibrant restaurant in south Winnipeg will become a new hotspot for art and culture in the city.Between 5:00 and 6:00 pm each weekday, you can drop by to hear artists, entrepreneurs, architects, writers, academics and journalists talk hot topics and hear musicians play live.
Sunday afternoons will focus on the written word, including local poets and writers sharing their work and discussing their trade. The first poetry event of the series will feature three noted Manitobans: David Barnard, president of the University of Manitoba; Ida Albo, managing partner of the Fort Garry Hotel; and Geoff Kirbyson of the Winnipeg Free Press. They will wax poetic on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 1:00 pm.
Featuring the Stella’s menu (the popular Winnipeg restaurant chain), edna fedya is a hidden gem located deep in the heart of Smartpark (Edna is apparently some relation to Stella).
The best way to find edna fedya is to go to the traffic lights at Chancellor Matheson and One Research Road and look for the signs directing you to “ef.”
