More than 50 student researchers compete for prizes at the fourth annual Student Poster Competition.

The competition provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to be exposed to and gain an appreciation for research. It also affords the greater university community, industry and the public to see the relevance, value and outstanding calibre of research being done by the next generation of scientists.

Some of the poster titles include:

·        Subversion et l’e(cri)ts des guerrieres: The cry of the hysteric in French fiction

·        The magnetism of rocks from space

·        Treatment patterns and outcomes of pancreatic cancer

·        Risk factors for alcohol-related injury in Canadian university students

·        Product of third generation biofuels using Clostridium thermocellum with local hemp feedstock

The research posters will be reviewed by a panel of 25 judges. One prize of $500 and $250 will be awarded in each of the four categories: applied sciences; health sciences; natural sciences; social sciences/humanities.

Awards ceremony at 4:30 PM
