Do you remember one particular teacher who made a real difference in your life? Did he or she go that extra mile and help you during a crucial time in your educational development?
This afternoon, outstanding graduating students from faculties at the University of Manitoba will salute teachers from kindergarten to university who have made an impact on their lives.
The theme of “going the extra mile” is most significant this year as some graduating students are giving tributes to teachers who taught them in places such as British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, India and Indonesia.
“This is one of the most memorable events of the university year,” says Dr. Cheryl Kristjanson, director of University Teaching Services. “Every year, there’re at least a few students’ stories that really touch our hearts as they recall the men and women who made such a difference in their lives.”
The reception begins at 3:30 pm on in the Multi-Purpose Room of University Centre, Fort Garry Campus.
For the first time, this year’s reception will be webcast live at:
