Sunday, March 22, 2009 Dr. Rizwan Manji, a cardiac surgeon and intensivist at St. Boniface Hospital's Cardiac Sciences Program appeared on The Health Report to discuss his keen interest in the area of heart valves. Dr. Manji came to Winnipeg from Edmonton, where he initiated a basic research study following a series of personal experiences that led him to question the 'textbook' answers for bioprosthetic heart valves and rejection. |

Sunday, February 22, 2009 The Cuba - Canada Cardiovascular Connection On February 22, 2009,
Dr. Delfin Rodriguez, a cardiologist and medical researcher from Hoguin,
Cuba, appeared on the Health Report to talk about his six month visit
to Winnipeg. Dr. Rodriguez has been participating in a clinical trial
of a type of omega-3 fatty acids since 2007, after winning the Annual
Foreign Scientific Award, of the Heart and Cerebro-vascular Disease Foundation
in Canada.
