University of Manitoba - Faculty of Medicine - OPAL - OPAL Training Information
OPAL Training Information

The Faculty of Medicine’s new curriculum management system OPAL will be implemented this fall with a full complement of training sessions offered this summer to ensure success.

Hands-on OPAL training in a computer lab for faculty (Block 1 instructors first), department heads/section heads, course / program directors, course coordinators and support staff will begin July 16, 2009 and will continue through to September.  Ongoing training programs will begin this fall to facilitate Block 2 and later instructors/support staff.

You can also learn more about OPAL, ask questions and interact with project team members by joining in on an OPAL department tour.  These tours present an opportunity for members of the project team to visit your area and demonstrate OPAL functions and features.  Whether you will be using OPAL this fall or in the future, these tours offer an inside look at how the new system works.  We hope to schedule a visit to your department soon.

If you are a Block 1 instructor, course/program director, or course co-ordinator, additional training is planned to accommodate your needs with the new comprehensive curriculum management system.

An OPAL Help Desk has been established and dedicated OPAL support will be available to Faculty members and the location and contact information will be broadcast as soon as this will be in place. The e-mail address is opalhelp@cc.umanitoba.ca
