Computer Login Changes
Effective August 14, 2006
Authentication required for Public Access Computers at UM Libraries
To comply with University policy for Use of Computer Facilities, the Libraries is introducing authentication on all our public access computers. This means if you require full Internet access you will need one of the following IDs:
Patrons without one of these IDs will only have access to:
- The University of Manitoba web site
- The University of Manitoba Libraries web site excluding licensed resources
- The Government of Canada web sites
Login procedures for Public Access Computers
Students, Faculty and Staff who authenticate with their INS id will also be able to access any of the services offered under the INS system such as personal network storage.
Authentication will allow us to offer new services and ensure authorized use of Libraries’ computing facilities and electronic resources.
