The Aboriginal Peoples Survey II data was collected between October 2001 and April 2002.
Dissemination is expected to start around September 2003, leading to a Public Use Microdata
File around Fall, 2005. Nine CMAs were included in the sample, but the
survey was boycotted
by the First Nations People of Quebec. There was a focus on health.

The Ethnic Diversity Survey was collected between April and July 2002. It was designed to
measure "how people's backgrounds affect their participation in the social, economic and
cultural life of Canada" and "better understand how Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds
interpret and report their ethnicity." (Statistics Canada).
A Public Use Microdata File has been released and is available to current faculty, students and
staff of the University of Manitoba, for non-commercial purposes. Contact
