Title: William T. Metzger fonds.

Biographical sketch: William T. Metzger is a pastor, spiritualist, and editor of Spiritual Press in Peterborough, Ontario. He has worked in medical doctors' offices and in hospitals as a spiritual healer. William Metzger collected material sent to him by William B. Payne (1915-1977), a writer, artist/cartoonist, and channel, who under hypnosis communicated with the spiritual world through automatic writing and drawing . This material was first published in Spiritual Press (1975-1976) and The Journal of Automatic Writing (1974). William Payne died in 1977. After his death, William T. Metzger published Payne's material in a book called Winds of Doctrine: Pictures & News from Spirit (1989).  He dedicated this book to William B. Payne.

Custodial history: The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by William T. Metzger in 2007.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of William T. Metzger's correspondence with William B. Payne, several photographs, and William Payne's drawings (organized into files by numbers) and writings (descriptive, automatic).
