Biographical sketch: Karl Krueger completed his thesis in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Masters of Arts in the Department of German at the University of Manitoba.

Custodial history: Claus Lappe, Krueger's advisor, donated the fonds to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections in 1992. The fonds was known as "German Travel, 18th Century (MA thesis, UM 1992)," until it was changed to the current title in March 2002.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of a thesis entitled Johann Nikolaus Becker (1773-1809) and the Development of German Travel Literature in the Eighteenth Century.
