Biographical sketch: Sophia Irvine lived in Winnipeg, was married and had children. Her husband died at the age of 70 in 1856.  Emily Pritchard was her grand-daughter.

Custodial history: The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Hugh and Joan Pritchard of Durham, New Hampshire in August 1986.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of a diary and three photocopies of the diary. Most of the entries in the diary were made by Sophia Irvine, with some entries by her grand-daughter Emily Pritchard.
