Biographical sketch: Evelyn Gilmore was married to Percy Gilmore.  Percy was employed as a mine accountant in a remote area of Northern Manitoba near Herb Lake from 1945 to 1947. Evelyn and Percy moved back to Winnipeg when the mine closed down.

Custodial history: The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections in 1989 by Olive Hammer.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of unpublished memoirs of Evelyn Gilmore's experiences in Northern Manitoba.
