The Department of Anthropology was established in 1962 as the Department
of Anthropology and Sociology with Professor William J. Mayer-Oakes
serving as the Department's first chairman. On 1 July 1967, Anthropology
and Sociology became two separate departments and moved into their
new offices in the Fletcher Argue Building.
This collection (1967-1988) includes departmental council minutes,
budget requests, course and professor evaluations, committee minutes,
correspondence, reports, and information on curriculum, timetables
and university scholarships and awards.
