Biographical Sketch: William Wade Stinson was
born in Toronto, Ontario on October 29, 1933. He received his B.A.
from the University of Toronto in 1954, and Diploma in Graduate
Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in
1955. He joined Canadian Pacific Railways in 1955 as an operating
assistant. He rose through the company to become president in May
1981.
Custodial History: The fonds was donated to the
University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Lillian
Gibbons on March 6, 1981.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of the notes
for a speech, "Proud of Our Heritage - Confident of Our Future",
given by W. W. Stinson, Executive Vice-President of CP Rail, to
the Midwestern Rail Association at the Fort Garry Hotel, Winnipeg,
on February 16, 1981.
