Biographical Sketch: Sylvia Ostry was awarded an honourary degree from the University of Manitoba at the 1986, 107th Convocation Ceremonies. She delivered a speech entitled "The Avis Factor." At the time of the convocation, Sylvia Ostry was Trade Embassador and Personal Representative of the Prime Minister.

Custodial History: The fonds was donated to the Archives & Special Collections by Bob Raeburn in 1989.

Scope and Content: The fonds consists of the speech delivered by Sylvia Ostry at the 1986 Convocation Ceremonies, entitled "The Avis Factor."
