Biographical Sketch: Thomas Nevin was born in Port Rush or Port Stewart in Northern Ireland in 1848. In 1852, Nevin's family immigrated to Canada and in 1857 settled near Seaforth, Ontario. In 1879, the family came to Winnipeg and set up homesteads and pre-emptions. Thomas Nevin married in 1885 and received title to his land in 1889. The Nevins had five children, four boys and a girl.
