Title: Henry Makow fonds

Dates: 197-?

Extent: 0.5 cm of textual records

Biographical Sketch: Henry Makow was born in 1949. He obtained his M.A. from Carleton University, Ottawa, in 1976, and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, in 1982. He briefly taught English at the University of Winnipeg until 1998, when his sessional contract was not renewed.

Custodial History: "Profiles in Canadian Literature: Frederick Philip Grove" was donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Henry Makow in January 1980. "Letters from Eden: Grove's Creative Rebirth" was received from Henry Makow by the Archives in August 1982, and added to MSS SC 45.

Scope and Content: The fonds consists of a photocopy of a typescript (13 leaves) entitled "Profiles in Canadian Literature: Frederick Philip Grove," written by Henry Makow. The fonds also contains an edited collection of Frederick Philip Grove's letters with commentary by H. Makow entitled "Letters from Eden: Grove's Creative Rebirth."
