Title: Florence Randal Livesay fonds

Dates: 1943

Extent: 0.1 cm of textual records

Biographical Sketch: Florence Randal Livesay (1874-1953) was a poet and novelist. She was married to J.F.B. Livesay, general manager of the Canadian Press. Shortly after their daughter Dorothy's birth the family moved from Winnipeg to Toronto. Dorothy became a famous Canadian poet. Both Florence and her husband were journalists for The Winnipeg Tribune. Florence was known for her translations of verse from Ukrainian to English.

Custodial History: The fonds was donated to Archives & Special Collections by Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson Varley in 1978.

Scope and Content: The fonds consists of a letter from Florence Randall Livesay to Elizabeth Anderson Varley, dated 28 December 1943 at Clarkson, Ontario. The letter mentions both J.F.B. Livesay and Dorothy Livesay.
