Biographical Sketch: Sophia Irvine lived in Winnipeg, was married and had children. Her husband died in this seventieth year in 1856.

Custodial History: The diary was donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Hugh and Joan Pritchard of Durham, NH in August 1986.

Scope and Content: The fonds consists of one diary and three photocopies of the diary. Most of the entries were made by Sophia Irvine, with some entries by her granddaughter Emily Pritchard.
