Title: Father Edward J. Barton fonds.

Dates: 1915.

Extent: 0.01 m of textual records.

Biographical sketch: Father Edward J. Barton lived at St. Edward's Rectory in Winnipeg in 1915. He was the former rector of the Notre Dame de Lourdes parish. Dr. David Alexander Stewart (1874-1932), a graduate of the University of Manitoba, was the founder and superintendent of Ninette Sanatorium for tuberculosis in Manitoba.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of one handwritten letter, dated November 28, 1915, from Father Edward J. Barton to Dr. D. A. Stewart.. The letter was intended to inform Dr. Stewart of the death of Father Superior Paul Benoit, Sr., the first parish priest of Notre Dame de Lourdes, and discussed the earlier death of Father Paul Benoit, Jr.
