Title: Henry Mills Alden fonds.

Dates: 1890.

Extent: 0.01 m of textual records.

Biographical sketch: Henry Mills Alden was born in 1836. He was an editor with Harper and Brothers Publishing in New York, which published of Harper's Magazine. He died in 1919.

Custodial history: The fonds was transferred to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by the Libraries' cataloguing staff on February 10, 1981. The record was found by cataloguing staff in the book, On Canada's Frontier, written by the record's addressee, Julian Ralph.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of a letter written by Henry Mills Alden to Julian Ralph on June 23, 1890. The letter is in regard to Julian Ralph writing articles about the Northwest Pacific coast for Harper's Magazine, and the possibility of later publishing a number of articles in book form.
