Title: Daryl Kraft fonds.

Dates: 1931-2003.

Extent: 2.75 m. of textual records.

Biographical Sketch: Daryl Kraft was born May 23, 1945 & grew up on the family cattle ranch Southwest of Medicine Hat. He graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Manitoba in 1968. He joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in 1973. Two years later he obtained his PHD from Washington State University.

Dr. Kraft was the advisor to over forty graduate students during his teaching career. He was twice director of the Sol Sinclair Farm Management Institute. In 1998 while department head, he initiated the Agribusiness Chair in Co-operatives & Group Marketing. He was named a fellow of the Canadian Society of Agricultural Economics in 1999. In 2003 he received a Teaching Award of Merit from the National Association of Colleges & Teachers of Agriculture.Dr. Kraft died on July 27, 2003.

Custodial History: The fonds was donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Myrna Kraft in 2008.

Scope and Content: The fonds consists of 4 series. They include biographical information, articles, conference papers & reports, research material & oversize material.
