Administrative History of the Papers of the Algonquian Conference/ Actes du Congres des Algonquinistes

H.C. Wolfart (Ph.D Yale University, 1969) and D.H. Pentland (Ph.D. University of Toronto) are professors in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Manitoba and organizers and editors of Papers of the Algonquian Conference. They are instrumental in developing the Algonquian Linguistics Studies at the University of Manitoba. Together they published the Bibliography of Algonquian Linguistics (1974, 1982) based on Philling's Bibliography of Algonquian Languages ( 1891). They have written numerous articles and papers for academic journals and conferences.

The Algonquian Conference is an annual conference being held for more than 30 years now. It is scheduled for the last weekend of October and attracts a large attendance, since both the academics and the non-academics interested in the subject can contribute their papers. Organizers call for the papers usually in April or early May.The program committee has the right to decline unsuitable papers. H.C. Wolfart and D.H. Pentland material covers years (1974-2008)
