The University of Manitoba Libraries use a proxy server
to allow access to licenced electronic resources from off-campus. When you choose a resource that needs to authenticated you'll be asked for your Library ID and PIN. Here's what they are:
- U of M Students - Your 7 digit student number
- U of M Faculty and Staff - All 14 digits on your ID Card
- New Students - Change your PIN
- Your default PIN is your YYMMDD birthday, BUT you must change this before it will work to access resources from off-campus

Why does my Staff number not work, but my Library ID does
It is possible that we have an incorrect entry in for your staff number, visit the Circulation Desk at any U of M Library and let them know you want to correct your alternate id in our records.
I have tried everything and I still cannot access the proxy server.
