View over 10,000 digitized archival documents relating
to immigration and immigration policy in western
Canada from the holdings of the University of
Manitoba Archives & Special Collections
and the University of Saskatchewan Archives.

View three hundred images from the holdings of the archives
of Oseredok, the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre.
The images are presented along with an accompanying historical
narrative pertaining to the experience of Ukrainian immigrants
in western Canada.

Experience this learning tool designed for students and
teachers in grade six. Contains lesson plans and activities
for teachers, a historical text with accompanying images
of archival material, and a fun, yet educational, game for
students relating to immigration and immigration policy
in the early-twentieth century.

within the Prairie Immigration Experience website you will have
to enable pop-up windows on
your computer's web browser.
If using Internet Explorer (XP SP2),
Go to "Tools"|"Pop-up Blocker"|"Turn Off Pop-up Blocker" OR Keep
the Control (Ctrl) key
pressed down while clicking on the links
to the digitized material.
If using Mozilla Firefox, Go to "Tools"|"Options"|"Web Features" and uncheck "Block Popup Windows."
If using Safari, Go to "Safari"|"Block Pop-up Windows" and make sure that menu option is unchecked.
You may also have to remove your Google toolbar which also contains a pop-up blocker. To do so, access "Control Panel" in "My Computer", select "Add or Remove Programs", and select "Google Toolbar".
