The University of Manitoba Students' Union (UMSU) provides a supplementary health insurance plan that provides extended coverage beyond what is provided by Manitoba Health. Eligible students are automatically enrolled in this plan at the time of registration.

International students coming to the University of Manitoba are encouraged to review the coverage provided by Manitoba Health and the University of Manitoba Students' Union (UMSU) Health and Dental Plan (if applicable) before coming to Canada and to purchase additional health, dental, and/or travel insurance from their home countries if they feel it is necessary. The University of Manitoba has a health clinic, dental clinic, and pharmacy located on the Fort Garry campus (in the University Centre building).
