Academic Matters

Academic Advisors are available to help students with their academic needs.  They can provide you with the information and resources you need to make informed decisions about degree planning and course selection, and can assist you with career exploration and your transition to campus.

Undergraduate Students:

New undergraduate students have a designated team of first year academic advisors available in the University 1 First Year Centre.

Advisors are also available in each faculty/department.  If you would like assistance from a specific faculty, click on the following link for contact information for each faculty: umanitoba.ca/student/records/tutorial/academic-advisors.html.

Students are encouraged to contact an advisor in their faculty/department once they receive their offer of admission to the U of M and to meet with their advisor regularly throughout their program.

Note for Incoming Exchange Students: Exchange students coming to the U of M for 1 or 2 terms from a partner institution should contact their U of M Exchange Coordinator for all academic inquiries.

Graduate Students:

Graduate students should consult regularly with their graduate advisors on academic matters.
