Scientific Review.
The overall scientific direction, aims, and evaluation of the performance of the MBTB have been subjected to successful peer review by many different agencies and review panels since 1993, including those at the National Cancer Institute of Canada and by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Operational Review.
The overall operation of the Manitoba Breast Tumor Bank (MBTB) project is monitored quarterly through ongoing operational review by the Scientific and Operations Committee that comprises the principal investigators of the University of Manitoba Breast Cancer Research Group.
Management.
Day to day supervision and maintenance of the MBTB is the responsibility of the director, Dr Peter Watson, and the senior Tumor Bank staff. All these individuals have considerable experience and specific roles in operating the tissue facility and the clinical database.
