![]() Return to Alkaline Rocks This pinkish prismatic mineral from Murun (Siberia) is a K-Ba-Na-Ti silicate quite chemically distinct from batisite and practically identical to "noonkanbahite", discovered in Australian lamproites in 1965 by Rex Prider (of priderite fame). Unfortunately, the latter name was unjustly discarded in the erroneous assumption that it was identical to batisite. Hopefully, it is just a matter of time before noonkanbahite is rehabilitated. |
