Research Interests: My research focuses on questions pertaining to the evolution and maintenance of sociality. To address those questions, I have employed both field research on ground-dwelling squirrels and controlled laboratory and field experiments on slave-making ants.
Current Studies: Currently I am studying the seemingly rich vocal repertoire of Richardson's ground squirrels and have commenced research on Franklin's ground squirrel. While social behaviour remains the primary focus of that work, the system offers unique opportunities to consider mating systems, dispersal, habitat use and variety of interspecific interactions.
