Graduate programs in the Faculty of Science are both extensive and challenging.
M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs are available in all Departments in the Faculty and doing inter-disciplinary research is also possible. Working with individual faculty, in labs, or as part of larger research groups, are all common. While most graduate-level research is done on the Fort Garry campus, there are also opportunities to work at other institutions/labs (as part of research collaborations), in the field (where appropriate) or cooperatively with industry (via internships and other programs).
Graduate studies is very diverse and somewhat more flexible than undergraduate studies. Under the guidance of your supervisor, your program can often be tailored to meet shared interests and needs. Strong research groups and programs are available in every department and may be further explored by following links to Departmental Research web pages.
