Nucleic acids
(Campbell 6th Ed. 80-84; 7th Ed. 86-89)
Nucleic acids are extremely large and complex molecules that have a variety of important biological roles. The elements of nucleic acids are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus. One general type of nucleic acid (DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid) is how cells store genetic information. You will learn more about DNA and nucleic acids in your lectures.
