Science allows us to discover new knowledge to better understand ourselves, the world and our place in it. Science also provides us with the knowledge needed to make important decisions (such as managing natural resources), to react to challenges (like the occurrence of epidemics) and to solve problems (for example, the need for new ways to treat diseases).
