Oct. 1- Manitoba Bison Darwin Thompson has been named the Canada West Offensive Football Player of the Week. Thompson who was listed at #6 on the depth chart last spring at the tailback position, was superb on Saturday gaining a lot of tough yards against a stingy Golden Bear defense. The 5’9” 190-lb product of the Winnipeg Rods and the Sisler Spartans in Winnipeg has put up impressive numbers in his first two starts rushing for 245 yards in two games against SFU and Alberta. This past weekend he had 24 carries for 146 yards and 1 TD in Manitoba’s 30-15 win against the Alberta.
