- At the start of the 2005 Canadian Football League (CFL) season,
the Manitoba Bison football team has contributed numerous alumni
throughout the league.
There
are 12 former Bisons on active CFL rosters for the beginning of
the 2005 season.
The
Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the most Bison alumni with five players
on their 40 person lineup. The newest addition to the Bombers was
Scott Mennie who was selected by the Bombers in the 4th round (29th
overall).
Overall,
the Bisons have players in seven of the nine teams in the league
with one of the most representation of players from any CIS team.
Bison
football head coach Brian Dobie commented, “We are proud of the
accomplishments of these players and pleased to see them excel at
the next level after coming through our program. We congratulate
Scott Mennie in making the Blue Bombers for the first time and continuing
the strong connection with the Bisons and the CFL.”
