RN Licensure Policy for International Students

If you will have client contact (e.g., clinical research or clinical practice) as a student in any of our Graduate Nursing Programs that involves processes and procedures that are within the protected scope of a Registered Nurse (RN), you must be registered as an RN within Canada by April 1st, and with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) by September 1st. If it is determined that you are a potential candidate for admission and you have been aligned with an advisor, the advisor will provide guidance regarding the need for licensure. For further information regarding registration in Manitoba, please contact the CRNM at: crnm@mb.ca

Note: The CRNM requires that international applicants have to be living in Canada at the time of application for licensure in order to be eligible to apply. Also of note, the process to obtain licensure with the CRNM is generally quite lengthy.
