I am interested in education and health outcomes of nurse practitioner providers and patients in institutional and community settings.


As a nurse practitioner scientist, Dr. Duff works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to conduct research focusing on nurse practitioner education, practice and competence. Primarily through the use of web-based national survey quantitative methods, her research explores the perspective of the nurse practitioner. She currently practices as a nurse practitioner in a primary care community setting and is an International Council of Nurses Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nurse Research member. Dr. Duff was the recipient of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Canadian Nurses Association Ann Beckingham Award. Dr. Duff has served as a board with the College or Registered Nurses of Manitoba and the Nurse Practitioner Association of Manitoba. She teaches graduate level courses and mentors nurse practitioner students scholarly submission for peer reviewed publications and posters.
