Professor Beverly O’Connell is the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba. She is the Co-Director of the Centre for Innovation and Education in Aged care in Australia. She has more than 25 years’ experience teaching and researching in the areas of care of the older person, continence care, and carer needs.She has extensive experience as chief investigator of multidisciplinary research projects, using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Track record to date includes:

  • In excess of 60 successful grant applications attracting more than 3.4 million dollars in funding.
  • More than 100 published articles in peer reviewed journals. .
  • More than 50 publications in books, book chapters, and reports.
  • More than 100 presentations at international, national, and local conferences.

In 2010, she led the Deakin – Southern Health Nursing Research Centre who were awarded the Southern Health International Nurses Day Awards for Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery – Research. She is on the editorial board for the journal Contemporary Nurse.
