Ryszard Tyborowski completed his Master Degree of Music Performance at the Faculty of Music at the State University of Music in Wroclaw, Poland in 1981. His advisor was Tadeusz Wybraniec. After graduation, Ryszard studied with many highly recognized guitarists in Europe including Costas Cotsiolis. Ryszard was awarded with grants and scholarships from different Canadian Arts Councils.
Ryszard Tyborowski is very well known across Canada for his music video "Hora" by Stepan Rak recorded by Bravo TV. His first compact disc, entitled "Romantico" has been praised by music critics in Canada and overseas. It was also singled out for its excellence on the CBC program "Sound Advice". Ryszard's second CD "Homage a Chopin" has been described as a "magnificent recording." Recently released CD "Pearls and Yarn" (April 2005) has been awarded five stars over five by the Winnipeg Free Press. Ryszard has performed numersou recitals in Canada and in Europe. Ryszard is frequently heard on national CBC radio in Canada, and various classical music stations in the USA. One of the most recognized Canadian composers Sid Robinovitch, dedicated his new concerto "Ports of Call" to him and clarinetist Milan Milosevic (premiered in May 2005 in Belgrade). In 1996 Ryszard became a faculty member at the Facultyof Music of the University of Manitoba, where he teaches classical guitar. He is also President of the Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society.
