Students aged 7-14 will sing, dance, act, and have fun! In a creative, supportive environment that encourages exploration and imagination, students will develop skills in stage movement, choreography, characterization, singing, harmonization, and more!
Class activities will include:
- Vocal warm ups & technique
- Scene & script work
- Ensemble work
- Acting & movement games and exercises
Students will work together and individually on scenes and songs throughout the course. The course will culminate in a cabaret-style performance.
What to bring:
Students should bring a water bottle, folder or binder, and a pencil/eraser to each class.

About the Instructor:
Brooke Pluta is a recent graduate of the University of Manitoba with her Advanced B.A. in Theatre and Religion. She was Vice President of the Black Hole theatre company during 2015-2016 and an avid member of the Desautels Faculty of Music's Musical Theatre Ensemble during her studies. Brooke currently teaches Musical Theatre for Doreen Bissett School of Dance, Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s “Studio Works,” as well as many other workshop and single classes throughout Winnipeg. Recent assistant directing credits include: Heathers (Winnipeg Studio Theatre), Another Way Home (Winnipeg Jewish Theatre) and A Little Night Music (Dry Cold Productions). This year she is excited to be assistant directing Madagascar the Musical and American Idiot with Winnipeg Studio Theatre. Brooke strives to continue her work and studies in the theatrical arts so that she can supply the best possible education to a new generation of performers.
