Berchmans Loh Scholarship

The Berchmans Loh Scholarship recipient is chosen by audition each June. Eligible candidates have been enrolled in weekly lessons with Prep Studies since at least the previous September, and will be pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Music in the coming September with the intent of becoming a professional musician.

Congratulations to Nada Hajin, voice student of Lynne Braun on winning the 2016 Berchmans Loh Scholarship.

Ross Houston Award

Celebrating the life and achievements of Ross Houston, the Ross Houston Award will be given annually to an outstanding piano student who is continuing studies in piano with the Division of Preparatory Studies. The recipient will have received a “First Class Honours” examination result in the Grade 9 Royal Conservatory or Conservatory Canada exam and will be studying at the Grade 10 Royal Conservatory or Conservatory Canada level. The prospective recipient will also have demonstrated or expressed an interest in “collaborative piano.” We are grateful to Grant Hackman who established The Ross Houston Memorial Fund.

The application deadline for the 2016 Ross Houston Award has been extended to October 15, 2016.

Ken Adams Music Scholarship *New for 2016*

The Ken Adams Music Scholarship will be given to the student who achieves first place in the Junior Piano Enrichment Program Auditions. This award is not transferrable and will be received as a tuition credit toward the cost of piano lessons with Prep Studies. 

Congratulations to Kyla Goulet-Kilgour, student of Jane Petroni, on winning the 2016 Ken Adams Music Scholarship.


Lydia Wiebe Award

This award will be given to the student who achieves first place in the Intermediate Piano Enrichment Program auditions.  This award is not transferrable and will be received as a tuition credit toward the cost of piano lessons with Prep Studies.  The Lydia Wiebe Award will be given out annually between September 2014 and September 2023.

Congratulations to Angela Suet Kee Ng, student of Jane Petroni, on winning the 2016 Lydia Wiebe Award.
