Dr. Hosking completed his undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1972. He completed his internship in 1973 at Edendale Hospital in Natal, South Africa. His post-internship experience took place from 1974-1975 also at Edendale Hospital. In June 1976 he passed his primary FRCS examination in Dublin, Ireland. From July 1976 to November 1977 was spent in both England and Scotland completing the clinical requirements for the FRCS examination. In November 1977 he passed the FRCS examination in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr. Hosking completed his Urology Residency at the University of Manitoba/Health Sciences Centre in 1982. In 1982 he obtained his FRCSC degree. In 1983, Dr. Hosking completed a Fellowship in Metabolic Stone Disease at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Since 1990, Dr. Hosking has been the Section Head of the Section of Urology, Department of Surgery, Health Sciences Centre and the University of Manitoba. Dr. Hosking was promoted to professor in the Department of Surgery (Urology), University of Manitoba in 1998.
Dr. Hosking practices general urology with an emphasis on endourology and metabolic stone disease.
