Registered Nurse Extended Practice
Full Time - Based at Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba
Must be on the Extended Practice Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Current CPR level C certification.
Provide a current criminal record check and child abuse registry check acceptable. The successful candicate will be responsjble for any servie charges incurred.
Three years of directly related experience is required. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge and familiarity
of cross cultural health care, preferably with Aboriginal people.
Must be physically capable of performing duties. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Perform comprehensive health assessments. Employ critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in clinical decision-making by synthesizing health
information to identify health risks and concerns in making appropriate diagnosis. Select appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and interpret reported findings.
Responsible and accountable for formally requesting consultation and referring clients to physicians/allied health care providers and social support/resources. Document timely, accurate
and relevant clinical data, findings and conclusions. Collaborate with other health care providers and sectors to use knowledge of determinants of health and principles
of community development to help groups and communities obtain the services they need to meet their health goals. Analyse research literature and apply relevant research to practice. Provide
clinical supervision, education and mentoring to graduate nursing students, medical interns and residents. Performs other duties as assigned.

Renal Health Program Nurses
Full Time
The J.A. Hildes Northern Medical Unit, University of Manitoba in partnership with the Four Arrows Regional
Health Authority and the Island Lake Joint Health Governance Working Group seeks Renal Health Program Nurses.
The Renal Health Program is an innovative University affiliated program for comprehensive renal
health was developed to address the high prevalence of renal disease among the First Nations Oji-Cree
population of Island Lake, Manitoba.
Reporting to the Renal Health Program Manager, J.A. Hildes Northern Medical Unit and liaising
with the WRHA Renal Health Program, the nurses will provide care and education to patients in various
stages of renal failure in renal health clinics and in the Dialysis Unit in Garden Hill, Manitoba.
They will provide general renal health education and screening programs in all four Island Lake
communities and participate in research related to improving renal care. Applicants must have an
interest in teaching the public, health professionals, and students in the health professions.
Opportunities may exist for a university appointment with the Faculty of Nursing.
The incumbent must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have
the ability to be diplomatic, professional, and sensitive to culturally related issues.
Fluency in Oji-Cree would be an asset.
This model program is sustainably funded by Manitoba Health and is integrated
with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority - Renal Health Program facilities.
Applications are invited from individuals with a minimum of one year of recent
medical-surgical experience, recognized dialysis training, or must be successful in
completing the funded nine-week Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course. Additional
cross-cultural health care training and pre-dialysis care training will be provided.
Nurses (RN/LPN) reside in Garden Hill in newer modern accommodations,
with outreach responsibilities to the communities of Island Lake. There is an
established income range and the successful candidate will be placed in the range
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Other benefits include: Northern
Living Allowance, Recruitment Bonus, Retention Bonus, and Delegation of Authority Reimbursement for Renal Outreach.

Job Qualifications:
- Hold a Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy;
- Be currently registered to practice Occupational Therapy with good standing in a Canadian province;
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT);
- Two or more year's directly related general clinical experience preferred;
- Experience with children preferred;
- Proficiency in the Inuktitut language is an asset.

The salary range is from $87,224 - 99,002 per annum. Subsidized housing is also available.
