Going for the Gold
The list of achievements for the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy and similar research units are seemingly endless, and like winning Olympic athletes, MCHP continues to strive for even greater success in the future. To do so, we must look to the past and the present of population-based health research in order to fill gaps in the holes of unanswered questions. MCHP’s 20th Anniversary Conference will act as a forum to dream about and discuss the future of population-based health research and the direction it will take in health policy development.

The full conference program can be downloaded here.

Conference Goals
To celebrate the past 20 years and all that MCHP has accomplished within that time.

  • To nourish and develop collaborative health research environments by sharing successes and best practices in population health research, policies and practice.
  • To explore the future of population-based health research, knowledge translation, and data linkage and how it will inform policy development.
  • To provide a forum to showcase and learn from innovative research, policies and practices that address the determinants of health.
  • To profile strategies that build the capacity of population health research at local, regional, provincial/territorial, national and international levels.
  • To provide a meeting ground for knowledge exchange among citizens, public health practitioners, clinicians, program planners, policy makers, and researchers from a range of disciplines and sectors.
