My laboratory is interested in the the Deleted in Liver Cancer(Dlc)-1 & -2 tumor suppressor genes and their role in tumor progression. These tumor suppressor genes code for RhoGap proteins and are found inactivated in many tumor types. We are using mouse cancer models with these genes turned off to study their role in metastasis, anticancer drug response and signaling by the phospholipid second messenger ceramide.
