Mission Statement – Manitoba Medical College Foundation Inc.
The mission of the Manitoba Medical College Foundation Inc, as a registered charitable organization, is to raise and administer endowment funds to enable awards in support of the students and programs of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Manitoba.
Objectives
- Attract interest in the charitable purposes of the Foundation on the part of the Faculty of Medicine faculty members and students past and present, medical practitioners in Manitoba; as well as the general public.
- Enhance the funds held in trust by the Foundation for the benefit of the programs of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine and its students.
- Undertake projects or activities that are in conformity with the Foundation’s mission; or, to cooperate with other entities in joint projects with the same objective.
Programs
- Support Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Graduate students in the Faculty of Medicine, through bursaries, scholarships and other awards.
- Support designated educational and research programs within the Faculty of Medicine, including the Clinical Learning and Simulation Facility (CLSF) and the Neil John MacLean Health Sciences Library (NJMHSL).
- Provide a link with Faculty of Medicine Alumni, worldwide, through publication of Manitoba Medicine - the joint newsletter of MMCF and the Faculty of Medicine.
- Promote recognition and public awareness of medical contributions made by Manitobans; in cooperation with the University and Faculty public relations offices, and other related bodies.
