Ophthalmology

Goals and Objectives:
The student should learn:

  1. to be familiar with basic ophthalmology
  2. become more comfortable at examinations of the eyes, in particular looking at the fundus.
  3. become exposed to multiple aspects of ophthalmology for potential career planning.
Content:
  1. multiple office visits.
  2. sessions in the ophthalmology operating room.
  3. sessions with ophthalmic technicians observing basic standardized tests.
  4. possible visits to the CNIB.

Call Responsibility: None required

Availability:
Throughout the year with limit to only one elective student at any given time. Duration of the elective is 1 to 2 weeks.
