Immunology Elective

 

 

Department of Immunology

Goals and Objectives:
Exposure to, and participation in, the application of current molecular and cellular immunological techniques. Understanding the benefits and limitations of laboratory tests.

Content:
The trainee will be exposed to ongoing basic and clinical immunology research projects to acquire experience in:

  1. experimental design
  2. the carrying out of laboratory medicine/research
  3. data analysis and interpretation

The trainee will also participate in a specific project (of his/her choice), lab meetings, journal clubs and departmental seminars. The ongoing research projects from which the applicant can select a project which covers a range of immunological conditions in humans and animal models. Clinical (outpatient) experience may be arranged.

Call responsibility: None required.

Preceptors: By arrangement with Faculty holding appointments in the Department of Immunology.

Availability: Any time during the year. Those interested in this elective should contact the Departmental office at least two months in advance.
