Scotiabank Technology Centre
Thanks to a generous donation from the Scotiabank, management students have access to a large computer facility housed within the Drake Centre building. The Scotiabank Technology Centre has 80 IBM PC-compatible Intel Core i5 2.50 GHz machines and two high speed Hewlett Packard laser printers that are available during all the hours the building is open. There are 62 machines in the Main Lab and an additional 18 in a separate glassed-in area known as the "Glass Class". Both of these lab areas can be booked for instructional use by professors by sending an email to Ian Lansdown two weeks in advance and letting him know the date, time slot and course number. Bookings are generally on a first-requested-first-booked basis. All of the machines have a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, two front-accessible high-speed USB 2.0 ports and a front-accessible headphone port. Students have access to a wide range of software as well as full internet access, including electronic mail, newsgroups, and the World Wide Web. Computer Lab Advisors are available during many hours of the day, 7 days a week, September to April to assist new users with questions. Information sheets covering the most common questions and topics are available free of charge in the lab. In addition to this computer lab dedicated to Management student use, there are also many other computer labs around the campus that are for general University student use.
As a management student you will have:
- access to the internet
- your own electronic mail account
- your own web space for your personal web site
- access to the University's software libraries and electronic information services.
