Asper MBA Career Support

The Career Development Centre at the Asper School of Business provides students and alumni with career management skills needed to confidently embark on career exploration and long term career management.  The CDC develops strong relationships with the business community to facilitate connections between students, alumni and employers.

The Career Development Centre offers MBA students and alumni personalized career counseling services that can help to identify strengths and interests, develop career focus through effective planning and labour market research.  We offer assistance in preparing resumes and cover letters, honing networking skills and developing effective interview strategies.  The CDC hosts a series of career development workshops and professional development seminars called the MBA Career Management series.  Workshops and seminars cover topics including resume and cover letter writing, behaviour based interviewing, profiles and self-assessments, professional image and etiquette, compensation negotiations, business networking and relationship building. The CDC provides a resume bank to employers of choice as well as an on-site listing of available MBA employment opportunities, coupled with personal job email notification.

We offer a series of panels and events focused on career management success, all conducted by senior business professionals, human resource practitioners and executive recruiters.  Our popular “Resumania” event, one of the highlights of the year, sees Winnipeg’s top business leaders networking with MBA alumni and students for a “speed resume” review.  Our annual Asper MBA Golf Event, connects MBA students and alumni with senior executives from a variety of industries and sectors, interested in combining a fun game of golf while building important business contacts. Our new series, Explore Careers in… will provide industry specific information from business professionals working in the fields of Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Investment Banking, HR Management and Finance, amongst others.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to maximize your career potential! Take advantage of the great networking opportunities available to MBA students and alumni.  Come see us today in Room 254 Drake.
