Program Overview
The MBA degree has never been more relevant for business leaders than it is today. Business runs 24/7 across every time zone around the world, so the art & science of successfully managing people, products and resources requires the disciplined practice of skills and strategy grounded in formal knowledge and hands-on experience.
MBA programs draw applicants from all academic and professional backgrounds - engineers, sales people, nurses, school teachers and many others from across the private, public and non-profit worlds. The MBA has become the most sought-after Masters degree in the world, because it provides you with critical skills and understandings and furthers your upward or lateral career opportunities.
Why the Asper MBA program?
The Asper MBA program delivers on both counts. With close connections into the Manitoba business community, graduate business studies at the Asper School bridge classroom learning with boardroom lessons to ensure your School experience is rooted in the real-life challenges of business leadership in the 21st century. Asper MBA students learn from academic and professional experts in their field and benefit from continual contact with business leaders, which keeps your learning grounded in the everyday world of actual business realities.
The program offers concentrations in Finance, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Health Administration, and General Management. Students can also design an Individual Interdisciplinary concentration, including graduate level courses in Departments outside the Asper School.
The Asper MBA rests on 70 years of advanced business education at the University of Manitoba and more than 100 years of business management research and understanding world-wide. The Asper MBA is:

What kind of student enters a Graduate Program?
Asper MBA, enrolling upwards of 50 students per year, has at any given time approximately 160 students engaged in full-time and part-time study. While interest varies from year to year, the program generally attracts individuals in their late 20s to mid 30s (current average is 32), with eight years of professional work experience being the norm. Up to one-third of the class is corporately sponsored. While the nationality and ethnic makeup varies from year to year, generally the classroom is filled with 85% Manitobans and 15% from elsewhere in Canada and abroad. Students come from the full spectrum of academic backgrounds – 40% from science and engineering, 15% from management, 25% from arts, and the remainder from other disciplines. Typically an incoming student's undergraduate grade point average (GPA) is 3.3 to 3.5. The average GMAT score is 580-600. A small number of students admitted each year may not have an undergraduate degree, but have exceptional work experience and/or alternative professional education.
